How it works

We will run your interactive online course shared with you via ZOOM. For child protection, please request the Zoom meeting ID at least 3 hours prior the live session to Julia Scoble. Email address is: juliascoble@thecreationstation.co.uk.

What materials you need

We recommend that your child has access to  coloured pencils, pens, crayons or chalk, child safety scissors, paper and card in different colours or white, watercolour paint if you have some.

Glue- PVA or a glue stick.   Or you can mix one part flour with one part of water ( for example 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup water) until you get a thick glue-like consistency. Add a bit more water if it’s too thick. Mix well with a spoon to get rid of all the lumps.

Any decorations you have at home- sparkles, sequins, buttons, foam shapes.  But again don’t worry if you don’t have any, you can always make your own.

Special Items week by week- These are great to have if possible but are not necessary to enjoy the classes!

Friday 29th May-A virtual trip to the seaside.  Finger print jellyfish and seascape collages with footprints in the sand.  Really brave parents can add some couscous if they have it to make some texture.  Extra items it would be great to have- paint for finger painting, ribbon or string for jellyfish tentacles, cous cous.

Friday 05th June-Word Environment Day  – Out of this World Painting and junk modelling.  Splatter painting to design our own solar system and planets, then junk modelling to make a jet pack or rocket.  Extra items needed- save your recycling for the junk modelling.  Tape or masking tape would also be great for putting the boxes together.

Friday 12th June-Toytastic.  Painting/Drawing our favourite toys and designing a sock puppet- Extra items needed a sock or bag to make into the sock puppet.  Paper for stuffing.

Friday 19th June-Father’s Day week- Brilliant Bodies.  We have already done self portraits with our faces- what about the rest of us?  Painting our body parts (on paper.)  Then tracing round our head, shoulders and arms to make a life size hug, either as a Father’s Day card or to send to another special person.  Extra items needed large paper or tape/stapler to put together smaller papers.

Friday 26th June-Creative Forces.  Drip painting either with paint or water, what does gravity do to our paintings?  Absorption- can we use a coffee filter or paper towel, felt tips pens and water to see what happens to the colours?  Then making whirligigs.  Extra items needed coffee filter or paper towel, string for the whirligig.
